“ I've heard of this place for a minute now but never quite made it here. Wasn't exactly certain the concept but wanted to finally give it a shot. The concept turns out to be fast casual but taken up quite a few notches. You order a base of a wrap or bowl and then a variety of proteins and then quite a few interesting sauces. I chose a Chicken Curry Special that was outstanding. I also chose an appetizer of Golgappa which is an street food and was absolutely delicious. Because I clearly didn't think this huge amount of food was enough I also got the Samosas. Oh and Naan because....oh who knows? So glad I stopped in here. The gentleman (owner?) was super nice and welcoming. The food was incredibly fresh with flavors that really speaks to the reason I love Indian food so much. Do yourself a favor and try this wonderful place. I will be back. Often. ”

Owner and head chef, Vishal, his personality AND food are perfect examples of the shining local food scene here in Columbus. We were the only patrons when we stopped by, but based on our food, I highly doubt that's the case if we take this pandemic situation out of the equation. Curry Up is a fast-casual build-your-own concept. I started with a salad base and lamb curry and tofu korma for proteins. Chickpeas, corn, carrots, green peas, beets, I know I'm forgetting a topping or two, but you get the gist: fresh veggies! I actually mixed a lot together (when I get the urge, I don't fight the powaaa!), and it was such a happy freakin mesh-up! CUIG makes fresh Indian naan-based pizzas, and the pictures I've seen look tasty, so I'd definitely like to go back and try one for myself. ”

I had the paneer with roghan josh sauce which was good! I liked how you can adjust the spice pretty easily with a paste on the side! “ I finally tried Curry Up this week. I like that I got to sample the combination platter I was going to order. The lady there talked me through the process of what sauces mixes well with everything I ordered. I had normal rice with both tofu and mild chicken. Then I added all the vegetables. It came with a side of naan bread and the samosa. I dunked the sweet sauce on the samosa once I started eating it and it was a wonderful combination. Such a good option for lunch or dinner. If your looking for good and fast Indian food look no further than Curry Up. I had a lot of people in line after noon to order here. ”

“ Curry Up is ostensibly a Indian fast casual restaurant, but it really should also be categorized as a street food restaurant because chef-owner is always trying and experimenting with new recipes and items. Last time it was the aloo tiki burger, the chili gobi, and the bhel puri; this time's a a spicy tandoori chicken sandwich. It's...quite good. The "tandoori" in the name is not for the eponymous oven, but the collection of spices--a medley that includes cumin, corriander, ginger, garam masala, etc--used to marinate the chicken breast. The chicken is then grilled, chopped, and topped off with cole slaw feeaturing a spicy creamy sauce, spicy avocado raita, mint chutney, and sweet tamarind sauce, on top of a bun or wrap. It's quite good (and has plenty of heat to it), but there are a few quibbles with this experimental item. For one, a wrap would work better than a bun, in part because the bun used is simply not robust enough to handle such a large sandwich. The other real issue is that there are too many sauces in the sandwich: not only do they make it liquid-y and unwieldy, they also obscure the flavor of the chicken. Cutting down on both the volume and number of sauces by half would help a great deal. That said, it shows creativity on the part of Curry Up, and it's a item well worth trying out, with a few tweaks. ”

“ I'm a big fan of Indian food and I'm always up for trying a new spot. This was a first when it comes to fast-casual Indian food. I usually order pick-up at more traditional restaurants but it's always fun to mix things up. I arrived to find plenty of parking out front and when I walked in the first thing I noticed was how clean and modern the space was inside. The menu is plastered above the counter and the serving style is similar to Chipotle. Your classic food assembly line, great for getting through a lot of people quickly. I was there for lunch was surprised to find only one person working, doing all the cooking and serving and everything in between. I have to imagine this was the owner. With his guidance I ordered a bowl with half traditional rice and half spicy rice (wasn't that spicy by the way, about a 3 or a 4). I also split my protein by getting half tofu and half paneer. My sauce choice was the korma (always a favorite) and on top I got carrots, peas, chickpeas, cabbage, onions, and tasty avocado sauce (I think that's what he called it). My friend and I both got naan and we split the samosas, those were both brought to the table a few minutes later. After grabbing a table, I dove right in. No hesitation. The korma sauce was mild in flavor but was very creamy and I could taste the cashew. With the paneer and tofu being similar in texture, I really didn't notice a difference when I was going back and forth between the two. The veggie toppings were all great and I especially loved the sauce that was squirted on top. When the naan arrived it was light and fluffy. I would have liked it cooked a few minutes longer as it was a little doughy but it did the trick, working as a utensil to shovel greatness into my mouth. When the samosas came it was crispy and piping hot. The two sauces that came with it were great and I would definitely order this again. Overall, this place is pretty good. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that it's located a little out of the way for me. I wouldn't mind coming back if I happen to be in the area and looking for a quick meal. ”
